history

1984
Phoenix, AZ. Master’s Commission begins as a vision in the heart of Pastor Larry Kerychuk. He believed if young men in the Mormon faith could sacrifice two years of their lives for their mission, surely Christians could commit one year of their lives to God, abandoned and with no distractions, dedicated to the cause of Christ. This is the original vision and mission of Master’s Commission.

1992 (Spring)
Belfast, Northern Ireland. While leading a missions trip during his internship with Jeanne Mayo, Pastor Jeremy receives a prophecy that he is not called into typical youth ministry; but he will be used to impact a nation and will be involved in the training and discipleship of young adults. These words jump out at him and he knows it is God.

1992 (Fall)
Rockford, IL. Pastor Sam and Jeanne Mayo have a dream to start a Master’s Commission at Rockford First Assembly of God. Their dream and the heart of Master’s Commission matches what Pastor Jeremy has been hearing from God, and he accepts a position as the Director of the Rockford Master's Commission.

1993
Rockford, IL. RMC is founded under the direction of Pastor Jeremy DeWeerdt. The mission: To know Him and make Him known.

1993-Present
Rockford, IL. People from all across this nation and around this world have made their way here to dedicate their lives to knowing God and making Him known, no matter what they decide to do after these nine months – doctor, pastor, lawyer, missionary, graphic designer, worship leader, teacher, evangelist, businessman, MC Director – they will do it as people who have been marked and set apart by God.

2007
Pastor Jeremy is voted in as the new lead pastor of Rockford First Assembly. He assumes the role of executive director and looks to his long time assistant director, Taka Iguchi, to become the director of RMC. Jeremy and Taka have known each other and worked together for over 14 years; giving the executive leadership team 29 years of combined ministry experience.
